Life has a way of bringing us back to what we love, even if the path is winding. For me, that love has always been photography. It was a way to see the world, to tell stories and to express myself from a very young age. But like many women, I stepped away from my personal passions to focus on something even more meaningful—raising my children.
Now, after years of motherhood, the spark of creativity has reignited, and I find myself drawn back to my camera. Let me share the moment that brought me full circle and why this return to photography feels like destiny.
Years of Growth and Transformation
For the past ten years, my life has been an adventure—a beautiful mix of exploration, motherhood and finding balance. I’ve traveled the world, embraced van life with my family and lived simply and sustainably. Each moment, whether under the stars in Mexico or on the beaches of Morocco, has shaped the person I am today.
But it wasn’t until I paused and truly listened to my inner voice that I realised how much I missed creating—how much I missed the camera in my hand and the stories it allowed me to tell.
A Women’s Circle and a Powerful Card
The turning point came a few weeks ago, during a Women’s Circle led by the inspiring Vana Norton at Jnana Place. We gathered under the energy of the new moon to reflect, release, and reconnect. Around the fire, we burned what no longer served us and set intentions for what we wanted to welcome into our lives.
As part of the circle, we each drew an oracle card. Mine was Creativity. In that moment, it was as if the universe whispered directly to me: “It’s time to create again.” The card reminded me that creativity has always been my happy place, whether through photography, writing or styling. It was a call to step back into my artistic self and share my vision with the world.
Honouring the Journey
This moment of clarity felt deeply spiritual. While the traditions of the Women’s Circle were different from my Islamic faith, they resonated with me as another way to connect with the divine, to give thanks, and to embrace the blessings of life.
As I reflected, I realised that my return to photography wasn’t just about taking pictures—it was about capturing stories, celebrating women, and creating moments of connection.
Why Now?
Motherhood has been my greatest adventure, but it also taught me the importance of balance—of giving to myself so I can give fully to others. Now, with my children a bit older, I feel ready to reclaim this part of myself. Photography allows me to blend my creativity, my connection to women and my love for storytelling into something meaningful.
Through my lens, I want to help women feel seen and celebrated. I want to remind them of their strength, their beauty and their individuality.
The Joy of Creating
Photography, for me, is like a wellness ritual. It’s a chance to pause, connect, and create something timeless. Every click of the shutter is a way to honour the present moment, to transform it into something tangible and lasting.
Whether I’m capturing the quiet intimacy of a home session or the bold beauty of a beach shoot, my goal is always the same: to celebrate the incredible women I have the privilege of photographing.
A New Chapter Begins
This isn’t just a return to photography—it’s a return to myself. With each session, I hope to create not just images but experiences—moments of empowerment, connection and joy.
To every woman out there: your story matters. Your beauty deserves to be celebrated. And I’m here to help you capture it.
